Law-Abiding, Honor Roll High School Student Faces Expulsion

If this occurred in New York or New Jersey I would understand this anti-gun attitude but this happened in Montana! So how does a law like this get passed in the first place; through federal regulations. Anti-gun policies are now mandatory in all school districts that want to receive federal tax dollars from the U.S. Dept. of Education. While it may seem odd to people in urban settings (i.e. DC, LA, and NYC) many young adults in rural settings regularly have guns at schools, to hunt and target practice, not to harm other students.
